7 Steps to Enhance Your Memory and Concentration
Memory and concentration I've created this article to give people 7 ways to improve there concentration and memory.
Its by no means bullet proof but it sure helped me and I'm sure it will help you.
So here we Go! Step 1 Mindfulness Meditation: Meditation has now been proven by Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to improve concentration and memory.
They have actually stated that regular meditation thickens the Cerebral Cortex.
The Cerebral Cortex is the part of the brain responsible for higher mental functionality.
Put 2 and 2 together and meditation will help your concentration, memory and possibly your well being.
Step 2 Proper Sleep: Getting the full 4o winks is vitally important for a mentally focused mind.
Look first at changing simple things.
Like changing that old springboard of a mattress for a newer one.
Use a pillow that's comfortable.
Try doing something more relaxing before going to bed.
If your getting to sleep to late change it now it wont cost you anything and could be invaluable to your brains functioning.
With a fully rested mind you'll be able to concentrate and memorize things far better.
Step 3 Vitamins and Supplements: Many people have great results with vitamins and supplements.
In my own personal experience I found the supplements I took to enhance my state of mind.
I was more aware almost more awake.
Like they say I felt like I was "in the zone".
I'm no health expert! So the real best thing to do is ask a professional or health specialist in that field before choosing your own personal route of supplementation.
But the things I'd advice doing more research into and to look out for are:
Generally the ones that claim wild to good to be true results are just that.
Keep it simple and go by the tried and tested route.
Step 4 Brain Games: There are many games out there to exercise the brain and improve your memory / concentration.
You could open the daily newspaper and do the crossword puzzle or sudoku.
Go out and buy yourself a real puzzle.
They take time but can really exercise the mind by using visualization techniques and patience which are both good skills when it comes to concentration.
Nintendo have released the Nintendo DS with a wide variety of brain crunching, concentration hummers and memory masters games on the market.
It's not the cheapest option but they sure work.
If your looking for a more simple way to stimulate the mind.
Play your own games continuously.
Be creative and exercise your mind.
For example the next time you find yourself queuing try give the people in the queue names and a specific colours.
Wait for a minute and see if you can remember who's who.
Step 5 Eat Healthier: Eating a regular 3 meals a day and increasing your daily intake of fresh fruit and vegetables is a very good and easy start.
Also increase your intake of water.
You see our brains don't like to work in a toxic environment.
The fresh fruit, Vegetables and water help eliminate the toxins from our blood system.
Giving our brains a much healthier environment to work in.
Which is gonna help our concentration and definitely improve the memory.
Step 6 Motivation: Try setting yourself small achievable goals.
By giving ourselves goals to reach it makes our minds stay alert and it motivates us to complete each task we set ourselves.
By making small achievable goals it helps us maintain a momentum it helps us focus on what needs to be done in the present.
It's very important to reward ourselves when we achieve certain goals.
It'll keep your mind interested and you'll know there's a little pay off at the end of each task.
Step 7 Take a Break: Your mental energy declines after a while.
If you've been staring at the same computer screen for the past 2 hours you going to start feeling a bit low.
As soon as you feel your energy levels dip to a point where your losing concentration, break the pattern and take a break.
Step outside for some fresh air.
Make yourself a tea! Do something that breaks your pattern and gives your mind a boost.
I hope you enjoyed the 7 steps
