How to Clean a Mohawk Andora Falls Carpet
- 1). Vacuum your Mohawk carpet once a week, or more often if it is subject to high levels of traffic. Use a vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush or beater bar that can clean deep between the piles.
- 2). Have your carpet professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months depending on the level of traffic. Hire a company that can steam clean your carpet using mild detergents with a low PH. Use fans or natural ventilation to dry the carpet as quickly as possible after it has been professionally steam cleaned.
- 3). Use a wet/dry carpet cleaner to remove light stains and spills. Use the spray attachment on the cleaner to wet the carpet, then run the brush over the spill or stain to remove it along with the water you added.
- 4). Blot tough stains with a bit of white vinegar and water. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bucket, then dip a clean rag in this solution. Blot at the stain with your rag until it is gone. Place a dry towel or rag on the spot to absorb excess moisture once the stain is removed.
- 5). Blend 1 tsp. of dish soap or detergent with 1 quart of water in a spray bottle. Spray this solution on dirt or footprints that won't come up. Let the solution sit on the carpet for a few minutes, then blot it away with a clean rag or towel. Use another dry rag to soak up excess moisture once the dirt is gone.
