- 1). Clean the fruit by rinsing it thoroughly. Wash away dirt and particles that may have accumulated around the fruit's spikes.
- 2). Cut the fruit in half lengthwise or crosswise, depending on your needs. Cutting straight through the skin may mean cutting directly through some of the spikes. This will have no ill effect.
- 3). Scoop or cut out the pulp. In some cases, as with large pineapples, it may be necessary to cut the halves in half to make quarters before cutting out the flesh.
- 4). Serve the fruit or include it in recipes for salads, desserts or other dishes.
