Dog Breeds and Feeding
When you add a new dog to your household it is important to spend quite an amount of time researching for the most suitable breed and breeds of dogs for your situation.
Most dogs become troublesome and a nuisance due to insufficient research in determining what is the best size, temperament, coat and exercise requirements.
Some owners for example may choose to pick a dog because of a picture from a book or what they have heard from friends only to find out their beautiful pet requires many more hours of exercise than the owner is willing to give it or their garden is too small or the dog is too noisy for a busy neighbourhood.
A registered breeder can assess your suitability to own a certain breed of dog and will answer any questions you may have regarding training, breeding and feeding, dog supplies and any other general questions you may have.
Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Border Collie The Border Collie is a medium sized energetic working dog.
It is very intelligent and aware of their surroundings thus making them easily trained to a high degree.
They are one of the hardest working digs thriving on lots of praise and are leaders in competitions and sheep dog trials.
Physical exercise alone is not enough for this dog as they need to work and carry out different tasks.
A long daily walk is a must and they also love to chase after a tennis ball.
the dog supplies they need are quite simple as they aren't fussy eaters but a good diet of fresh meat and good quality biscuits makes for a healthy dog.
Labrador There are 2 types of Labradors, the English and the American.
Their appearance is different along with coat colours.
It is a loyal, loving, affectionate dog which makes a great family dog.
Very intelligent and good natured they are willing to please and also make a good service dog.
They love to play and love the water and they have an excellent reliable temperament and are very friendly and are very good with children.
The only problem is they love food and will eat all day long so be sure not to leave food laying around that they can get too.
Labradors need to be exercised well so daily walks or runs are essential, also taking them to the park and throwing a ball doesn't go astray.
Like I said before they are not fussy eaters but need to be kept on a healthy diet, but if they are not the dog will become overweight if fed too much fatty and junk foods.
The Dog supplies you need are good quality meats as well as biscuits.
These are the first two looks at dog breeds and I am looking forward to giving you all more different breeds of dogs in the coming future.
Good luck with choosing your dog and make sure it's the right one for you and your family and you won't regret it!
