How to Make Graphics in Excel
- 1). Start Microsoft Excel. Click the "Insert" tab. Click the "Shapes" button.
- 2). Click the "Squiggle" tool, which looks like a pencil. This is Excel's only drawing tool. Position the cursor on the spreadsheet and draw the design, such as a flower, star, box or something abstract.
- 3). Click the "Shapes" button again. Select a shape from the collection, such as the smiley face or a speech bubble. When the cursor turns into a plus sign, click and drag on the spreadsheet to make the graphic design.
- 4). Click the "Clip Art" button on the Insert tab. Enter a term to search for a graphic, such as "cat," into the Search box. Click the "Go" button. Scroll through the results and double-click a graphic to add it to the spreadsheet. Repeat to add additional graphics.
- 5). Type data for a chart graphic into the spreadsheet, such as two columns of numbers. Highlight the cells with the data inside them. Click the "Insert" tab. Click one of the options on the Charts section of the Ribbon, such as "Column." Select one of the column options to add the graphic to the spreadsheet.
