    A Guest Mural

    • Guestbook Mural

Purchase or create a large black and white painting on a canvas. The picture may be anything from flowers to a simple grid of individual boxes. Be sure to grid off a picture so each guest only has a small portion to paint. Place the painting in a visible area at your reception venue with various paints and brushes. Ask guests to paint their name in a square or fill in a portion of the picture with their name in the corner of their square. In the end, the new couple will have a one-of-a-kind painting for their new home together and the guests will have a blast leaving their mark.

    Wish Cards

    • Weddings are a sentimental day for most guests, as the event tends to bring back memories from their own weddings or from moments in time when they felt particularly loved. Harness those emotions in each guest by having wish cards set out with printed or hand written words like "love," "desire" and "dream" on one side of the card. Instruct guests to write a bit of advice or words to live by for the new couple on the reverse side of their selected card. Leave a jar on the table for completed cards. After the reception, you will have an entire set of cards with each guest's own personal touch and sentiments.

    Tree of Names and Wisdom

    • A creative and decorative way for guests to sign in is to have a tree with no leaves and lots of thin branches in the center of a large, round table. Around the tree, spread out multicolored pieces of paper with holes punched in their corners, bits of colored string and multiple types of writing utensils. Request that each guest writes his name and any words of wisdom on a piece of paper and ties it to one of the branches. At the end of the reception, you will have an eclectic tree full of names, loving thoughts and notes. As a couple, you may decide to keep the tree as is in your new home or remove the pieces of paper and include them in an album with pictures from the wedding.
