Do it Yourself: Fix a Seiko Watch Strap

    • 1). Set your Seiko watch face down on a soft surface. A towel or cloth is ideal for this.

    • 2). Examine the back of the watch to determine where the band connects to the watch. If you look through the openings at the edge of the watch, you will see a small, metal rod with a spring around it. This is called a spring bar. It is the connection point between the band of the watch and the face of the watch.

    • 3). Push the spring bar inward, towards the wrist band. A spring bar tool is ideal for this, but a small, flat screwdriver will work as well.

    • 4). Pull gently on the band as you press on the spring bar. This will remove the band.

    • 5). Repeat the process on the other side of the watch.

    • 6). Follow the steps in reverse to install your new watch band.
