Are US Airline Bailouts Next? China is Already Bailing Out Two of Their National Airlines
Bailing out private enterprise with government dollars is risky business indeed, worse, what do you do when you bailout the corporations in your country, but their foreign competitors in other nations do not? Sounds pretty unfair, now then, consider this; what do you do when a foreign nation subsidizes their companies and the US does not, rather allows the corporation to compete on such an unfair playing field? You cannot bail out all the corporations in America, and you certainly do not wish to nationalize entire industries while the taxpayers foot the bill.
Worse, if the companies get into more trouble later, you have a sticky problem on your hands, do you continue to bail them out or let them sink? Well, here we are in this place and time in 2008 as we navigate through some of the roughest seas we've ever seen; stormy skies indeed.
The question is should we bailout the US Automakers and if we do, will Japan, Germany and other nations bail out their automakers? And if we bailout the automakers, what industry is next the Airlines? Well, don't look now but China is on final approach to bailout two of their largest airlines:
Well, in the US our airlines need a lot more than 440 Million dollars or 3 Billion Yuan.
Can you begin to see why this issue is so serious? We have a problem here with socialist nations propping up their companies and state-owned communist nations saving their industries and jobs.
Apparently, the skies are still friendly, but there are more storm clouds on the horizon?
