How to Clean Silver

    • 1). Measure a length of aluminum foil to cover the bottom of the pan. Place the foil in the pan.

    • 2). Arrange the silver pieces on the foil so they're all touching the foil. Every piece of silver needs to touch the foil.

    • 3). Heat water, enough to completely cover the silver pieces. Add a small amount of salt to the water as it's heating.

    • 4). Add a cup of baking soda to the hot salt water solution.

    • 5). Pour the water, salt and baking solution over the silver pieces. Make sure all the silver pieces are still in contact with the aluminum foil.

    • 6). Allow the silver to soak in the solution for approximately 30 minutes. You can watch as the tarnish melts off.

    • 7). Remove the silver pieces and buff them dry with a soft cloth. Notice how even the hard to reach places are now clean and tarnish free.
