Michael Jackson Fancy Dress Ideas

    "Thriller" Era

    • Not only did Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album set a record as one of the greatest selling albums of all time, but it also established fashion trends. Grab a pair of blue or black jeans or a pair of black pants that come slightly above the ankles, so that your socks will show. Wear white socks and a white T-shirt. Take a white glove and apply silver beads to it with glue or by stitching them on. Complete your Michael Jackson "Thriller" outfit with a red or black leather jacket.

    "Bad" Era

    • Michael Jackson's image adopted an edgier look when he released the "Bad" album. You can copy this image by pairing black leather pants and a black leather shirt with boots. Take black belts that have silver buckles and wrap them around your hands, starting just above your elbows, and around your pants legs, starting just below your knee. Wear black boots that have a high heel. You should also wrap black belts around the boots.

    "Smooth Criminal"

    • In his video for the hit song "Smooth Criminal," Michael Jackson drew inspiration from the 1930s gangster era. Grab a solid color suit with matching coat and pants. Underneath the suit, wear a solid-color shirt in a different color. Wear suspenders that are the same color as the suit. Your tie should also match your suit. Top off your "Smooth Criminal" fancy dress outfit with a fedora hat. Take construction paper and wrap it around one of your arms. You can hold the construction paper together with tape or glue.

    Face Masks

    • In the later years before his death, Michael Jackson often wore face masks. The trend-setting entertainer said he wore the face mask due to health problems. You can purchase a face mask from a store or get one from a friend or family member who works in the health-care industry. Wear the face mask with a dress shirt, dress pants and dress shoes. Top off the outfit with a fedora hat.
