Decorating Ideas for Wall Cutouts

    Nursery

    • Use cutouts in your baby's nursery to display items that complement the room, such as stuffed animals she can't sleep with for a safari theme. Set up a toy train for a train themed nursery. Add a potted plant you received at your baby shower with sticks featuring mesh butterflies for a butterfly themed nursery.

    Child's Room

    • Niches in a child's room can provide a display space for his favorite toys if it's within easy reach. For example, let your child set up his favorite comic book action figures or plastic army men in his niche. Alternatively, use the niche to display educational items, such as blocks that spell out his name or include the entire alphabet or numbers.

    Teen's Room

    • Teenagers should have more say in their bedroom decor, which should reflect their interests and style. Use the wall cutouts to display picture collages of her friends, awards, collections or artwork. Sports memorabilia or trophies are other popular teen choices. Consider a flower arrangement, water fountain or potted plants if your teen wants more grown-up or sophisticated decor. Use decorative baskets or boxes for the teen to store small treasures, such as jewelry, hair accessories or electronic accessories.

    Adult's Room

    • Wall cutouts can add to a romantic or nostalgic atmosphere in an adult's bedroom. Line smaller niches with floral arrangements, candles or pictures. Miniature replicas of romantic cities or places you've traveled, such as Paris, Rome or tropical islands, is another option. Display items that bring you peace, joy and good feelings.

    Kitchen

    • Small niches in a kitchen provide a good place to line up your jars of spices or potted herbs. Display other kitchen accessories, such as novelty salt and pepper shakers or small tea sets. Larger kitchen wall cutouts can show off your fine china, artwork or a collection of cookie jars.

    Hallways

    • Display your treasures in a hallway wall cutout that you want to share with guests. The items you choose to display will have a greater impact and be more visible because hallways typically don't have any furniture to compete with the items. Use intricate frames to hold treasured pictures or your favorite pottery, vases or other decorative accessories.
