Dating and Romance Tips
- When entering a new relationship or trying to keep one alive, it is important that both people give the relationship everything they've got. This full-fledged commitment lets their partner know how much they care. This means truly listening to conversations, helping each other out and giving advice, doing things that each person enjoys and making time for each other every day.
- Each person has a different expectation of where they want to be in life and how serious they want their relationships to be. In order to have a successful relationship, both parties need to be on the same page in terms of commitment. If a person wants to be married within three years, they should be honest with their partner about that. If a person does not want to commit to marriage for a while, or at all, they should let their partner know.
- Through listening and paying attention to a partner's actions, a person will quickly discover things their partner enjoys. Take a mental note of these things -- whether it be a favorite sports team or a favorite movie -- and surprise your partner. Purchase tickets to a sporting event or surprise the person with a romantic dinner followed by a viewing of that favorite movie. These surprises don't necessarily have to coincide with a specific holiday or celebration; sometimes the best surprises are when they are done for no special reason at all.
- For adding a spark in a relationship that might be hitting some bumpy patches, plan a nostalgic night out for you and your partner. Go out to dinner at the restaurant where you had your first date, or visit the college campus where you met. End the evening with champagne and chocolates while pouring over old pictures or watching silly home movies. A night like this reminds you both know why you fell in love.
