How to Switch From a RAZR to the iPhone

    • 1). Make sure your iPhone is compatible with your SIM card. Most iPhones are locked to a specific carrier and if your SIM card is with another carrier, it might not work in your iPhone. To get the most from your iPhone, make sure your SIM card is 3G enabled. If not, call your provider and ask for a replacement SIM card that is.

    • 2). Ensure that your plan covers data usage. Many versions of the Razr do not offer 3G or any other form of Internet browsing, whereas many features of the iPhone require an Internet connection. If you do not have a data allowance on your plan, call your provider and ask them to add one. Connecting to the Internet on your iPhone without one can be very expensive.

    • 3). Copy all your phone numbers to your SIM card. Navigate to the phone book in your Razr's menu, and press the "Menu" button. Select "Copy" from this menu, and select "Multiple to SIM." Choose all the contacts that you want to copy and press "Done."

    • 4). Copy from your Razr any data that you want to keep, such as photos, calendars and audio files. Plug your Razr into your PC using the supplied USB cable and extract these files.

    • 5). Remove your SIM card from your Razr, and put it in your new iPhone. Plug your iPhone into your PC and activate it in iTunes if you have not already done so.

    • 6). Copy your contacts from your SIM card to your iPhone. Tap the "Settings" icon and choose "Mail, Contacts and Calendar." Scroll down and tap "Import Contacts from SIM." All the phone numbers from your Razr will now be in your iPhone's contacts application.
