Power Banks For Our Smart Devices

The world that we live in today is unimaginable without the existence of the smart devices. Whether one is travelling for work or getting bored without any work, smart phones will always be there to make our life better. Because these devices are used extensively for almost everything from gaming and downloading videos to unending text messaging, they are power hungry and tends to run out of juice pretty fast.

What happens when you are travelling (where a power source like a wall outlet is missing) and in the middle of an important conversation while your phone goes dead? Portable power bank has answer to this question. A power bank is essentially an external battery in a sealed case which is used as a great alternative to keep the electronic devices charged without any hassle.
They are also be called portable chargers which can be used in charging mobile phones, ipad and other digital products.

Generally, power bank come with USB cables so that they can be charged through laptops also. You can carry it in briefcase, purse or even in your pocket, just make sure that it is charged up. Just like the batteries in the cell phones, power banks are also rated in mAh (milliamp/hour) and has efficiency of 70 to 80 percent. This means that even a 4000 mAh power bank will fall short of charging a S4's 3600 mAh battery fully.

Power bank is available in many different types and have lots of specifications which can be confusing for the consumers. So before buying any, one should remember few pointers such as:

1. The battery size of the device: The battery size of the device can be found in the package of the device or can be searched in the internet. For example, an iphone has Non-removable Li-Po 1440 mAh battery (5.45 W).

2. Information about the charger: Specifications such as output current and voltage output should be equal or higher than that of the devices.

3. Quality: The quality of a power bank depend on the manufacturer.

4. Product design: It should have the feel and look of a 'SMART' design.

5. Reliability: The casting of the device should be made in such way that it van prevent any leakage or harm.

For a world which is run based on instant communication and information, a power bank surely comes handy in reducing the probability of it going (frequently) powerless.
