Homemade Liquid Soap
- 1). Grate a bar of soap with a sharp knife.
- 2). Boil 1 cup of water in a small pot. Place the grated soap and the boiling water into a blender. Place the blender's setting on "whip" and combine the two ingredients for a few seconds.
- 3). Pour the blended ingredients into a large bowl. Pour 1 tsp. of glycerin and 1 cup of honey to the mixture. Stir the ingredients together well. Allow the ingredients to settle for 30 minutes.
- 4). Pour the mixture into the blender. Place the blender's setting to "whip" and allow the ingredients to combine for 10 minutes. The end result should be a paste.
- 5). Pour 1 cup of cold water into the blender. Add 4 to 5 drops of soap fragrance into the blender. You can find several varieties of soap fragrance at many craft stores.
- 6). Turn the blender to "whip" again and allow the mixture to blend for three to four minutes. Pour the liquid soap into a large jar and allow it to sit and cool, without a lid, for several minutes.
- 7). Place the soap into a liquid soap dispenser. You may need more than one dispenser, depending on the size. Shake the bottle before each use.
- 1). Pour 1 quart of water into a medium-size pot. Bring the water to a boil.
- 2). Grate a bar of unscented hand soap with a sharp knife.
- 3). Place 2 cups of the grated hand soap into the boiling water. Turn the burner to low heat and stir the ingredients with a wooden spoon until the soap completely melts.
- 4). Pour the mixture into a large bucket. Place 2 cups of washing soda, which you can purchase at most grocery stores, and 2 cups of Borax into the bucket. Stir until well constituted.
- 5). Pour 2 gallons of water into the bucket and stir until the ingredients are completely mixed. Cover the bucket with plastic cling wrap. Use 1/4 cup of the mixture with each load of laundry. The mixture will also gel, so stir it before each use.
