Olympus - Mt. Olympus

Definition:

Mt. Olympus, at 9,570 feet in height, is the tallest mountain in Greece. It is referred to as snow-capped. To the ancient Greeks, Mt. Olympus was the home of their (Olympian) gods and goddesses. Mt. Olympus is on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia. [See Map of Northern Greece.] The name of Mt. Olympus was used for the famous panhellenic games known as the Olympics.
