Determining Anxiety Symptoms

The symptoms of anxiety may differ from one anxiety disorder to the other. However, many of these anxiety symptoms have the tendency to be common across several anxiety disorders. It is therefore quite difficult to pinpoint an anxiety disorder in an individual with absolute certainty. However, since many of these signs are quite easy to spot, the presence of anxiety in itself is quite easy to spot. It is also very important to spot an anxiety disorder in time for any treatment to be effective.

It is common for an individual to go through both, mental as well as physical anxiety symptoms. Some of the physical anxiety symptoms include shortness of breath, muscle tension, tremors and twitches, headaches, dizziness and the frequent requirement to urinate. An individual may suffer from one or several of these symptoms when undergoing anxiety. On the other hand, anxiety also has its effects on the brain and the mind. One may suffer from a blank mind, tenseness and nervousness, experiencing threats from normal situations, paranoia, a constant lingering sense of worry, dread, restlessness and a drop in concentration levels. In this condition, individuals loose grip of all rational thought and tend to expect the absolute worse from every situation.

One constant amongst all symptoms of anxiety is that the individual suffering from anxiety is perpetually worried and fearful of most circumstances. An average, healthy human being, on the other hand, would not experience any of these emotions in similar circumstances.

Panic attacks are also quite common amongst patients of anxiety. Though even normal people may have experienced this attack at least once, anxiety patients suffer from them at higher frequencies. In this condition, an individual is taken over by overwhelming panic accompanied by heart palpitations and pain, trembling, shaking, hyperventilation, difficulty in breathing, nausea, stomach cramps, hot flashes, chills etc. Anyone suffering from these symptoms should speak with a doctor immediately and seek the right kind of guidance and treatment.
