Fun Pixel Games
- One "Bad Pixel" spoils the bunch, leading players to try landing it in a blue container in this aim-and-shoot game, accessible at sites like AGame. After clicking and holding the left mouse button on the "bad pixel," players point the cursor and release the mouse button to fire the pixel in the direction of the blue container. Even if they fail, players may continually attempt to defeat a level. Players advance to the next level when they land the pixel in the blue box.
- Players destroy enemies and collect pixels to score points in "Pixel," available on sites like Kongregate. After selecting an avatar, players use the mouse to move and click to shoot enemies. Enemies explode into pixels when they're shot. Once an enemy has exploded, its pixels may help destroy other enemies. The bar at the bottom of the screen shows game progress. Players lose points if an enemy hits them; the game ends if the score drops to zero points.
- Blessings or curses determine progress in "Pixelosis," accessible at sites like Y8. To form a famous painting, players click tiles to arrange them in the correct order. The further they are from their correct places, the more pixelated tiles become. Click two tiles to make them swap places. If a tile lands in the correct spot, players score 10 points; if it does not, players lose 10 points. Players lose 1 point for every second that passes; if the score reaches zero, the game ends. Too many failed turns in a stroke results in a cursed tile; in such an instance, players must solve the puzzle quickly or witness a terrible event. A series of successful turns results in a blessed tile; players then receive bonus points for solving the puzzle.
- Players face a pixel bombardment in "Pixel Blast," accessible at sites like Gamez Hero. After choosing either "Arcade" or "Survival" mode, players control the green pixel, shooting and avoiding contact with other pixels. Green pixels increase firepower. While players have three lives in "Arcade" mode, they get just one shot to see how long they can last in "Survival" mode. If players advance far enough in "Arcade" mode, they unlock the "Retro Breakout" mini-game.
- Red robots try to thwart players' plans to reveal secret pixelated images in "Pixel Panic," accessible at sites like Key Games. Players use the directional arrow keys to move an orange robot along the sides of rectangles. When all of a rectangle's outlines change from blue to orange, the pixels disappear and the image in that rectangle becomes clear. Players lose a life upon contact with the red robots, and score points for each rectangular outline they change from blue to orange. When players can clearly see the image on the screen, they advance to the next level. The game ends when players lose all their lives.
