European Ski Chalets: Where To Go
In Europe there are many different ski resorts with chalets aimed at tourists, however it can be hard to choose one to visit. This article will guide you through several popular European chalets that could be what you are looking for.
The French Alps
Les M©nuires -
Les M©nuires is a very popular skiing destination, located in Les Trois Vall©es, and offering a number of modern but traditional chalets to make sure that visitors have a pleasant stay. These are Chalet Eva, Chalet Katie 1, Chalet Katie 2 and Alpages du Reberty; across the former three of the spacious modern chalets, they include a jacuzzi, sauna, hot tub and showers, and all have the best comfort possible. The latter, recently refurbished, is a large high-quality residence offering modern apartments for families with spacious rooms.
Val Thoren -
In the centre of the Alps is Val Thorens, one of the resorts in Les Trois Vall©es, offering stylish and relaxed hotels to stay in. The largest and most international ski area in the world, it has many useful buildings such as a school, medical centre, shops and post office, and is suited for tourists of all skiing skills, particularly beginners. Not a skier? Don't worry, since there are also plenty of other activities such as hiking, paintball, snowmobiling and bowling, or you can just relax in the pool or jacuzzi. Having a night on the town is another chance to have fun at one of the many bars, restaurants or aprs-ski.
The Swiss Alps
Saas Fee -
Saas Fee is a small but beautiful mountain village that is a popular destination for skiing in the Swiss Alps, full of some of the best hotels and restaurants you can find in a Swiss ski resort. Its car-free streets are surrounded by chalets and cowsheds yet this look doesn't disrupt the bright appeal of the village. Whilst the settlement is gorgeous, the weather can get very cold and dim for most of the year and there are also limited skiing areas for experts, focusing more on beginners and intermediates. But, due to the high altitude of the village, there is also still plenty of snow for everyone to enjoy their activities.
S¶lden -
The ski resort of S¶lden is another small but very lively resort that is full of bars and clubs for younger tourists, where you can be sure you'll have a really great time. Lacking less in restaurants and caf©s, it is not one of the best resorts suited to a family audience. The ski conditions however are always constant and enjoyable owing to the two large glaciers, so the best skiers can be pleased. For those who are beginners however, the slopes suited for you can get a little crowded at times and there are fewer areas. However this is made up for with their high end ski chalets that are to die for.
