How to Use a KitchenAid Food Grinder

    Assembly

    • 1). Insert the grind "worm" into the body of the grinder and fit the cutting blade onto the "worm," inside the body of the grinder.

    • 2). Choose which of the two grinder plates you would like to use. There are coarse and fine grinder plates.

    • 3). Screw the plastic retaining ring onto the top of the food grinder, to secure the grinder plate and blade in place.

    • 4). Remove the cover plate from KitchenAid stand mixer attachment hub, by loosening the fixing screw on the side. Depending on the model mixer, the plate is either hinged or comes away entirely.

    • 5). Pass the end of the food grinder into the stand mixer attachment hub. Fix the food grinder in place by tightening the same fixing screw that held the cover plate in place.

    Operation

    • 1). Place food, such as chopped meats, cheeses or bread into the food grinder tray. Set a bowl beneath the grinder to catch food as it emerges.

    • 2). Turn the KitchenAid stand mixer on. Williams-Sonoma recommends setting the speed between 2 and 4.

    • 3). Use the tip of the pushing tool to gently nudge the food into the grinder as needed.

    • 4). Clean the food grinder after each use by disassembling it and washing each part thoroughly. The parts are dishwasher safe.
