Velocity Micro T1300 Specifications

    Processor and Mother Board

    • To keep prices down, Velocity Micro used an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ processor instead of an equivalent Intel chip. Athlon processors tend to be cheaper because they have a more primitive cooling system. The motherboard was made by ASUS and was based on the A8N SLI motherboard. The T1300 came with 1GB of DDR400 ram standard and 250 GB of SATA hard drive memory.

    Graphics

    • The T1300 came with a eVGA Nvidia Geforce 7800 GT graphics card that was SLI compatible. Because the motherboard was also SLI compatible, end users could put in another Geforce 7800 GT card to double their graphics capability. It is notable that Velocity Micro may have used a cheaper processor but used what was the high end card for that time. ATI is the graphics brand of AMD and makes a wide range of cheaper graphics cards.

    Case

    • Velocity Micro use its own aluminum Signature LX-W case for the T1300. Unlike other cases, it comes with built in castor wheels for ease of relocation. It was also one of the first retail computers to come with cathode lighting, which at the time was just a popular aftermarket aesthetic upgrade. The case could accommodate four 5.25 inch bays and two 3.5 inch bays.

    Sound

    • The Velocity Micro T1300 comes with a Creative Audigy2 ZS sound card that helps alleviate the processor load by performing the sound calculations on it's own processors. The audio hookups for the card are in the rear with one headphone and one microphone jack at the front of the case.
