  According to the Chinese principles of feng shui, all homes are full of energy, either chi--good energy--or sha--bad energy. If you've been feeling down or stuck in a rut, you may have too much bad energy in your home. By locating the source of this bad energy and taking steps to change it, you'll start to feel a change in your life.
  
  

Clutter

• Having clutter anywhere in your home can create negative energy. This is because energy in the home has a hard time getting around clutter, so it tends to build up. In certain areas of the home, clutter could be specifically affecting your health, wealth, relationships or children. Clean the clutter and you clean the negative energy.
  
  

Acute Angles

• An acute angle in your home, such as in the corner of the room, can cause negative energy. If possible, purchase a home that has corners that are 90 degrees or greater. If that's not possible, you can improve the energy by placing a plant in that corner.
  
  

Inappropriate Images

• The images in your home should reflect the types of things you want in your life. Negative pictures--such as a picture that shows a barren land--will bring negative results. Even a picture that appears beautiful can bring negative energy. For example, if you have a picture of a single woman, you may have a hard time finding a relationship. Choose to surround yourself with positive imagery.
  
  

Window Placement

• Each area of your home corresponds with a different area of your life. Starting with the left hand corner along the wall with your entry door and going clockwise, these items are knowledge, family, wealth, fame, partnership, children, helpers and career. If you have an open window in one of these areas, the energy may be flowing out of your home, causing problems for that area. For example, an open window in the "wealth" section could mean that money flies out of your bank account as well. Cover this window with a curtain to prevent problems.
  
  

Previous Owner

• In some cases, the negative energy in a home may be a remainder from the previous owner. You can clear this energy with crystals, which absorb the energy, or by placing citrus peels around the home for a few days.
