How to Reset a Leviton Surge Protector for Receptacles
- 1). Unplug the Leviton surge protector form the outlet if the circuit breaker trips. Pull out the power cord plug or pull the box away from the wall outlet. Unplug all appliances and lights that are plugged into the surge protector sockets.
- 2). Examine the outer plastic body of the receptacle surge protector for holes and burn marks. Discard and replace a surge protector that has body damage after suppressing a power spike. Plug the unit back into the wall if there is no sign of damage.
- 3). Push the surge protector reset rocker switch toward the "Reset" side. The switch will light if it remains functional. Plug in the appliances and lights you wish to protect with the Leviton surge protector and resume normal use.
