Pub Crawl

• An inexpensive option to celebrate a man's 21st birthday is the classic pub crawl. Research the bars in your area and choose four to six places with a signature drink. Print a chronology complete with drink descriptions and directions to each location. Reserve a van or bus if you are expecting a large group. Make sure there will be enough sober drivers and distribute copies of the directions. At each bar have the group order a round of the signature drink and sing a birthday song. Some bars will give the birthday boy a free drink. When each drink is finished by the man having his birthday, everyone else has to chug the remainder of their drink. Then everyone is off to the next drinking hole to repeat the scene, which can last as long as the guests hold out.
  
  

Might as Well Jump

• Skydiving and bungee jumping can appeal to the thrill-seeking 21-year-old. Some group packages can lower the price for everyone. Bungee jumping is the less expensive of the two and can handle larger groups. It requires very little instruction and training for first-time jumpers. Ask about photo and video packages or if the operators allow you to take your own.
  First-time skydivers will need will need to take a short introduction to skydiving class and jump in tandem. Tandem jumps are when new skydivers are strapped to an experienced trainer. Make sure everyone stays sober until after the jump. Theme the afterparty accordingly, with cupcakes decorated by a plastic parachuter toy on top.
  
  

Vegas, Baby

• If Las Vegas, Nevada, is within a day's drive, a road trip may be in order. "Sin City" parties have become a popular choice, particularly since 21 is the legal gambling age in Nevada. The drive is a fun part of the experience, but air travel is an option as well.
  Las Vegas is full of over-the-top casinos, restaurants and nightclubs. Talk to the guest services manager at the hotel to see if they have any birthday specials or packages. Call strip clubs in Las Vegas to see if they offer free limo bus rides for large groups and ask about VIP packages. These packages can include private rooms and alcohol discounts.
