There are four ways that we can look at scale * The flowers in scale with various other flowers * The flowers in scale with foliage * The bouquet being in scale with the wedding scene * The container and flowers being in scale with one another The container that is chosen for the floral arrangement is extremely important because its shape and size will be used to determine the types of flowers that you can use.
The more dominant and larger flowers tend to look better in containers that are bulky.
The delicate and fine flowers tend to work well with smaller, intricate containers.
The flowers that are chosen must also be in scale with one another.
That doesn't mean that you are unable to use flowers of various sizes, but all extremes should be avoided.
For example, sunflowers that are very large in size would not look very nice with a cluster of delicate and tiny lilies.
The flowers that you have invested in should also be in scale with the foliage.

For example, if you were to have a rose bud that was arranged in front of a much larger banana leaf, it's sure to not look very nice.
