How to Stop Aluminum From Rubbing
- 1). Examine the aluminum components to locate the exact pieces that are rubbing. A component may be loose. Simply tightening it with a screwdriver or a wrench could solve the problem.
- 2). Bend the aluminum component slightly with a pair of pliers to create more space between the aluminum pieces. Use caution; bend the aluminum only slightly without breaking a piece off.
- 3). Slide a rubber washer or cover over the aluminum component to provide a cushion between the two pieces. This will prevent the rubbing of the metal and help stop any noise problems.
