    Robeson Community College

Students can apply for admission at the admissions office on Fayetteville Road or they may use the online application system. Transcripts proving high school completion are required for admission. Students may also transfer credits from other institutions. After completing an admission interview, students take a placement test before being accepted into a course of study. Tours of the campus are available to prospective students.

    University of North Carolina at Pembroke

    • Just 20 minutes from Lumberton is Pembroke, North Carolina. Pembroke is home to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). Students attending UNCP take classes on the local campus while earning credit toward a degree from the University of North Carolina. The liberal arts university places equal weight on liberal arts classes such as writing, public speaking and literature, as they do on career-specific classes. Undergraduate and graduate applications are accepted at the UNCP admission office. Students must pay an application fee when applying to UNCP. Bachelor's and master's degree programs are available.

    Bladen Community College

    • Dublin, North Carolina is 25 minutes from Lumberton; it is where Bladen Community College is located. Applications are taken online only. High school transcripts are required for admission. Bladen Community College supports electronic transcripts from high schools with electronic capabilities. The two-year college offers associate degrees in arts, science, applied science and nursing. The nursing and practical nursing programs allow a limited number of students so applicants who are not accepted will be placed in a general studies course load until space in the nursing program is available.

    St. Andrews Presbyterian College

    • St. Andrews Presbyterian College is a private institution located 37 minutes from Lumberton. The college offers study abroad, equestrian teams and Division II athletics. U.S. News & World Report named St. Andrews one of the top colleges in the United States in 2008. Degrees are available from the main campus and the Center for Adult and Professional Studies. The liberal arts college offers four-year degrees with general education classes required for graduation. Freshman, transfer, international and adult students are accepted. Applications can be printed from the official college website and delivered in person or sent via mail for acceptance.
