Students attending UNCP take classes on the local campus while earning credit toward a degree from the University of North Carolina. The liberal arts university places equal weight on liberal arts classes such as writing, public speaking and literature, as they do on career-specific classes. Undergraduate and graduate applications are accepted at the UNCP admission office. Students must pay an application fee when applying to UNCP. Bachelor's and master's degree programs are available.

The nursing and practical nursing programs allow a limited number of students so applicants who are not accepted will be placed in a general studies course load until space in the nursing program is available.

U.S. News & World Report named St. Andrews one of the top colleges in the United States in 2008. Degrees are available from the main campus and the Center for Adult and Professional Studies. The liberal arts college offers four-year degrees with general education classes required for graduation. Freshman, transfer, international and adult students are accepted. Applications can be printed from the official college website and delivered in person or sent via mail for acceptance.
