Question: How Long Will It Take to Get Pregnant After a Miscarriage?
We just decided to start trying for a baby after our last pregnancy ended in miscarriage. I am beyond eager and want to be pregnant yesterday. How long should I expect it to take to get pregnant again?
Answer:
Congratulations on deciding to try again. The answer to your question varies. Some couples will find themselves expecting again right away, perhaps the first cycle they start trying, while others will find it takes several cycles to get pregnant again.
Although it can be frustrating when you are eager to be pregnant, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you if it does take a few months for it to happen. If you find you're not pregnant within six months to a year, you may wish to speak with a fertility specialist -- but about 9 out of every 10 couples will achieve a pregnancy within a year, assuming they are timing intercourse to the fertile period of the menstrual cycle.
