How to Use an Electric Potpourri Crock
- 1). Place the potpourri crock on a level surface within close proximity to an electrical outlet. Make sure that there are no dangling objects near the crock and select a location where children and pets will not disturb the crock as it simmers.
- 2). Add approximately 1 cup of potpourri to the crock, filling it about one-fourth full with potpourri. Add water to the potpourri, filling the crock one-half to three-quarters full of water.
- 3). Plug the potpourri crock in. Within minutes, you will begin smelling the aroma of the potpourri as the water heats up in the crock.
- 4). Supervise the potpourri crock as it simmers the potpourri in the water. You may have to add additional water to the crock if you simmer the potpourri for several hours. Do not allow the water level to drop to below the halfway point on the crock.
- 5). Unplug the potpourri crock when you finish simmering the potpourri. Allow the water and potpourri mixture to cool and then pour it down a kitchen sink equipped with a garbage disposal. Rinse the potpourri crock carefully without allowing the electrical components of the crock to contact the water. Dry the potpourri crock and put it away.
