Judge Orders Teen Held in Holloway Case

A judge in Aruba has agreed to allow a 19-year-old teen arrested over the weekend in connection with the Natalee Holloway case held another eight days while investigators question him about the Alabama's teen disappearance and drug dealing activities.
Geoffrey von Cromvoirt (pictured), who works for his father's security firm patrolling beaches as part of the company's visibility team, had to appear before a judge in order to be held past three days, under Aruban law.

For the first time today, authorities confirmed that "G.V.C." was arrested in connection with the Holloway case.

"G.V.C. is suspected of criminal offenses that may be related to the disappearance of Miss Holloway and of offenses related to dealing in illegal narcotics," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Neither the prosecutor or Cromvoirt's defense attorney, Eline Lotter Homan, made any comments as they left the station after the court hearing, but FOX News reported that the judge agreed to allow the teen to be held for an additional seven days.

Cromvoirt has ties not only to the security company that operated the video cameras at the hotel where Natalee Holloway was staying with other members of her senior class, he has a sister who is a member of the Aruban police department.

"Obviously, when they make an arrest instead of just bringing a witness in it's a positive thing toward the resolution of Natalee's case," Natalee's father Dave Holloway told reporters. "But we'll just have to wait and see."
