An 8-Step Goal Setting Process to Reach Your Network Marketing Goals

One of the most daunting tasks any home-based business owner faces is goal setting and deciding which direction to take in order to achieve them.
You might have all the intentions in the world to go after your dreams, but after a few months of hard work you may feel the excitement start to dwindle at the same rate as your savings account.
96% of people in network marketing give up on their dreams by quitting their businesses.
Why are the remaining 4% successful? Do they know something that the other 96% do not? It could be a combination of any number of things from poor marketing education to a general lack of desire to get to work.
Whatever the case may be, following the 8 goal setting steps below can make the difference between achieving your goals and giving up.
Goal Setting Step #1: Determine Your Direction Where are you now, and where do you want to be next year from this very moment? Think about it in terms of both your life and your business and write it down on paper.
Having your reality and your dream next to each other in plain sight is an incredible motivator.
Goal Setting Step #2: Determine Your Purpose What do you want to have? What kind of person do you want to become? Who do you want to help and why? Write down the reasons that get you out of bed every morning, full of energy and ready to get to work.
Be specific.
Vague dreams will never be reached.
Goal Setting Step #3: Describe The Profit What will your life be like when you reach all of your specific dreams you write down? Think about the impact it will have on you and everyone you know.
Goal Setting Step #4: Diagnose Your Problems Why don't you already have the things in your life that you are wishing for? List all of the personal obstacles that you have in your life.
Some of them may not be your fault, and some of them will.
Be honest with yourself.
If you are spending too much time watching TV and not enough time calling prospects, write it down.
Goal Setting Step #5: Design A Plan What are the methods and tools that you need to use in order to achieve your goals? If you are thinking of using the traditional methods taught by your company like talking to your friends, handing out samples and flyers or hosting home parties, think again.
Those methods are outdated and will only get you a few sales here and there.
Start by finding a training program that focuses on proper marketing education.
Goal Setting Step #6: Discipline Your Personality What do you need to do to change? Think about the personal problems and obstacles you listed in Step #4.
Think about your habits, spending and attitude.
The more mature you get, the more depressed you'll be.
For things to change, you have to change.
Goal Setting Step #7: Pay The Price What are your 24 hours a day filled with? You're going to need to sacrifice a few things in order to change your habits.
If you watch TV too much, you'll have to trade your tv watching time for something that will help you reach your goals.
Everything comes at a price.
It's up to you to determine what that price is worth for today and tomorrow.
Goal Setting Step #8: Depend on People Network Marketing is filled with successful people who have pulled themselves out of the same situation you are in.
Ask them for help.
Do not let pride stand in the way of your dreams.
You have to ask questions in order to get answers.
This entire 8 step goal setting process should only take you about a half hour to an hour to complete.
It is the most important time you can spend on your business.
In order to become successful in Network Marketing, you must develop the mindset of a leader.
