Fixing and Repairing Your Playstaions 3

Are you suffering from the Yellow Light Of Death (YLOD error) on your Playstation 3? If your anything like I was when it happened to me, I wanted the problem fixed and I wanted to get back to playing my games! I had to scour the Internet for a "quick fix" to stop this YLOD, but came up short. Nothing people said to do worked. So after summarizing up all my options, I really only had two to go with.

I could either send off my PS3 to Sony, loose ALL my data, and pay about $150. -OR-
I could fix the YLOD by getting ahold of a repair guide. (There are a few out there.)

I Initially wanted to send my unit off to Sony and have them repair it, but $150 is pretty steep for a repair. (Its almost better just to go buy a new one!) Then I was told it would be 2 to 4 weeks before I would get my unit back. A whole month without entertainment, that sucks!

So what did I do?

I actually went with the repair guide. I figured it doesn't work now, go with the cheapest fix first. Now only that, the repair guide I got offers an immediate download and detailed pictures and videos. So after downloading the repair guide, I took a brief skim and it was really detailed and easy to follow.

My PS3 Was Back Alive That Day...

After following the repair instructions, My PS3 was back up and running. Now there are a few guides out there, but the one I decided to get was the one from PS3FIXES.COM the site contains a compilation of many articles. the one Its been a few months now and the problem has yet to return! Not only that, the repair manual has other information about different problems that can happen to your PS3. So, in the end I saved myself quite a bit of money, and gained the knowledge to fix this unit if it ever breaks down again. Not Bad!
