The host or hostess of the birthday party can organize a scavenger hunt around the birthday honoree. For each year of the birthday boy's life, select an item to scavenge that has significance to each year in the life of the birthday celebrant. For example, for the first year, have guests scavenge for a baby rattle. For the 18th year, have guests look for a high school diploma, tassel or graduation hat. Have people work in groups. - Go to the arcade you went to as a teenagerJoe Raedle/Getty Images News/Getty Images
If the birthday boy went to the arcade as a pre-teen or young teen, get the old gang together and go to the arcade. Play the games that were popular when your circle of friends was in school. Forget about calories for the night, and if there is a pizza place in the arcade, eat there. Ride the bumper cars. Ride the motorcycle race game. Play the pinball games. Test your skill on the car racing games. Act like you did when you were in school. It will be fun. - Play one of those "who done it?" games where people need to come in character and stay in character throughout the duration of the game. The goal is to determine who the murderer is. Games are available for 8 to 50 guests. If necessary, have more than one game going depending on how many guests are in attendance and how many players each game needs. Games can now be downloaded on the Internet or you can still buy them in the actual box. The downloaded game includes everything that would come in the box version of the game.

Have the birthday party at home and play games that the birthday boy or girl loved to play while growing up. Offer prizes for the winners. Prizes can be simple ribbons from a dollar store or educational store, notepads and pens, gift cards to restaurants or gift cards to stores.
