How to Remove Label Glue From Garments

    • 1). Purchase an all-purpose adhesive remover such as Goof Off, GooGone or Un-Du from your local hardware store or home improvement center. These solvents can be safely applied to your garments to dissolve sticky substances and stubborn stains.

    • 2). Spray or pour a small amount of the product onto the affected area on your garment. Some brands may require you to apply it to a cleaning cloth or rag first.

    • 3). Allow the cleaning solution to soak for the instructed length of time in order to soften the glue. Then use a soft cloth to gently scrub the area until the glue begins to loosen with ease.

    • 4). Use the home remedy of white vinegar as an alternative for finer garments that the solvents may damage, such as suede, silk and leather. Heat a small amount of the vinegar over a stove until it is warm, then pour it into a clean plastic spray bottle.

    • 5). Spray the spot of glue and allow the vinegar to set for at least 30 minutes before wiping it away. Wash your garments in detergent or dry clean them for a thorough removal.
