Do We Need Instant Online Voting for Our Republic?
Not long ago, a very caring individual explained to me that what we needed was direct and instant electronic voting to handle most of the important issues and challenges of our nation.
He explained that we could all use our iPhones, Laptops, and computers to do the voting.
Unfortunately, as great as this might sound for those who love democracy, it's really not the way to run a Republic which is set up with a representative governing structure.
Nevertheless, intrigued by this common suggestion of online instant voting, I quizzed the gentleman and challenged his wisdom; Okay so would the citizens also be allowed to vote for "free stuff" because pure democracies get into problems that way, as everyone votes for free stuff, especially those who are on the government's gift list.
Mob rule in a pure democracy can be problematic.
And we must realize that the media tends to become the opinion of the masses, and thus, we open it up the electorate to be controlled by foreign interests.
You know the Russians, and now the Chinese also have TV station channels.
And George Soros spent big in advertising to unseat the Republicans and put up Obama, and he's not even a US citizen.
Mob rule is basically socialism, and socialist nations generally have bad endings, not quite as dire as history shows with communism, but bad enough, as the those who are lazy, vote to tax the rich, demand more stuff, until there is so much snow on the roof that the roof collapses, and in that case the US, the greatest nation ever created would become nothing more than a foot note in the future annals of history books? "How would you get around that problem?" I asked, "seriously" I said; "I'd be interested in hearing the solution.
He told me that we wouldn't need any more lobbyists, attorneys, committees, or pandering politicians.
He also said that the federal legislative branch could spend 40-hours every week investigating any problems instead of going on vacation.
You see, this was apropos because he made all these statements during summer recess.
I told him that; yes, I'm as frustrated by all that as you are.
It seems they are all on the perpetual take, and even an honest guy going to Washington is only good for about 18-months, then they learn the ropes and they are like all the rest it seems.
It appears to me that our citizenry is at wits end with the political rhetoric and they want our country back, so, this means some major turn-over in Congress is forthcoming.
Please consider all this.
