My name is Jen, and we're here at the Phoenix Salon in Los Angeles, California, and today we're going to show you how to create a Rockabilly hairstyle, and we're going to style his hair into a pompadour and in order to do that we just need one product and that is going to be our pomade and actually you need a fair amount of this to achieve pompadour in his hair and we also need a comb so here you want to use a comb that has a thinner side of teeth and also a thicker side. So, the thinner side is down here, the thicker side is on top. We're going to take a pretty good amount, not too much to start out with, scoop it on my finger here, put it on my palm. I'm going to work the product in and then first we're going to just run your hands through the hair and try to get a good amount of this everywhere. So, I'm going to run my fingers through his hair pushing it back towards me, get a pretty fair amount of product on, really work it in there. You really need to work this product in and kind of get a feel. I think the hair feels pretty saturated and I would say he probably could use a little bit more. So, this is again why you start off with a little bit and then you can kind of add more because you don't want to end up using too much. So it took a little bit more and I'm going to do the same thing, just really work the product into the hair, pushing his hair back and then we're going to start combing his hair. It's kind of like sculpting it. You want to really use the finer edge of the comb and comb it back towards the back of his head so the sides are really smoothed out and then repeat the other side. So using your comb, you want to just kind of comb the front up and use your hand to kind of push it forward a little bit where you can create that sort of lift in the front which is going to give it that pompadour. Use a little bit of hairspray just to really hold it in place. I mean this will stay with the amount of grease that's in there but some people really like to have it not move so if you wanted to use a hairspray you could kind of spray it everywhere and it really will keep the shape for the whole day. So, this is our Rockabilly hairstyle. We have just a little bit greased up pompadour here and this is one Rockabilly way to wear your hair, and all he needs is his nice tux to go out tonight.
