Which type of humidifier do you need?

Housewares >> Air Quality Appliances >> Humidifiers & Dehumidifiers >>

Definition: A warm mist humidifier is one type of humidifier. There are two types - cool mist and warm mist. There are a few differences between the two types but the main one is that a warm mist humidifier uses a heating element to boil the water and create a steamy mist, that is expelled to the room.

Warm mist humidifiers are only sold in portable, tabletop units.

They usually have a small receptacle where medication can be added for a soothing vapor. Because of the heating element and hot water present in the unit, some have concerns about using warm mist humidifiers.
