How to Clean Copper-Bottom Pots
- 1). Dip a lemon half in salt and run over the bottom of the copper pan to remove tarnish. If you don't have a lemon, wipe the pan with a dishcloth soaked in vinegar.
- 2). Wash the entire pan immediately in hot soapy water, then rise in warm water.
- 3). Dry the pan immediately with a soft towel.
- 1). Wash the entire pan in hot soapy water, then rinse in warm water. Dry the pan with a towel.
- 2). Combine in a bowl ½ teaspoon salt, ½ cup distilled white vinegar and enough flour to make a paste. Add flour by the spoonful to the salt and vinegar until the mixture is a thick paste, similar to the consistency of toothpaste.
- 3). Rub the mixture over the tarnished copper bottom and let it set for at least 30 minutes.
- 4). Rinse the bottom of the pan with water. Thoroughly remove the flour paste.
- 5). Dry the bottom of the pan with a cloth dampened with vegetable oil. The cloth should have just a small amount of oil added so the bottom of the pan does not feel oily. Wipe the pan bottom with a dry cloth to remove excess oil.
