Every Side of TP MB Irons Is Perfect

Since i have used my old taylormade irons for a long time, i decided to replace them with the TaylorMade Tour Preferred MB 2014. I always use muscle back irons. This set is really suitable for my golf.I will say these are TRUE blades IMO. Tiny sole, thin everywhere, compact and demanding even to the eye. Definitely out of my league.

"With the Tour Preferred MB, we really wanted to work on the workability, feel and aesthetic appeal for the better player," said Tomo Bystedt, TaylorMade's director of product creation for irons, wedges and putters. "We know that players who play a muscleback really values these things more than anything else." Designed for more accomplished players, the Tour Preferred Forged MB (muscleback) irons are all about feel and control. A touch of offset has been added to the hosel to appeal to more players. Like everyone else, we were curious and wanted to see how the new Taylormade SLDR Irons would stack up to the rest of the clubs of the season.

I feel that these irons will make me become a better ball striker. What I mean is if you miss-hit your shot you will know and it doesn't look, sound or feel great. This is what blades do. The dimensions are proportional and the overall look is "neutral", meaning nothing really stands out that I think would offend anyone or for that matter excite anyone. The Speed Pocket, which TaylorMade debuted in last season's RocketBladez irons, is designed to allow the lower portion of the iron's face to flex more at impact. The Tour Preferred MC irons have a longer blade length, slightly wider sole and slightly thicker topline than the new Tour Preferred MB irons, but those game-improvement features won't protect players too much from bad swings. Golfers who like the idea of the Speed Pocket but need forgiveness should try the company's game-improvement TaylorMade SpeedBlade Irons.

The slot, which TaylorMade calls a Speed Pocket, helps to create a higher launch angle, but the players TaylorMade targets with the MB prefer to control ball flight with their swing. Thinner top line and set up is important to me so i decided to go back to a true blade and the swing weight feels identical with only a 5 yd loss in distance to the R9TPs. Still, you better be precise with the TaylorMade Tour Preferred MB's because heel and toe shots are going to haunt you. These might be a good choice for those who want a higher ball flight in a "player's club".

I've played some different tracks in the last 2 weeks with these and found them to be great clubs, that work from all lies and turf conditions. I love these MB irons.
