How to Backroll Paint After a Sprayer

    • 1). Tape off all areas that will not be painted with painter’s tape. Cover fixtures with plastic and seal the edge with painter’s tape.

    • 2). Mix the paint thoroughly with a paint stir. Take care to scrape the sides and bottom to blend all settled solids into the paint.

    • 3). Pour a small amount of paint into a paint tray and load the roller with a small amount of paint; just enough to dampen the roller with paint.

    • 4). Fill the paint sprayer with paint according to manufacturer’s directions. Spray the paint onto the surface with a paint sprayer.

    • 5). Backroll larger solid surfaces before they are dry with the paint roller. Use the paintbrush to backbrush all areas that cannot be reached with the roller, such as under the ridges of siding or tight corners.
