Acne Treatment Options

There are some forms of acne that are caused by certain health conditions which requires attention from a medical doctor in order to find an effective remedy for it. It is considered a very common occurrence for acne breakouts to occur during the time of puberty and this has been attributed to the severe changes in hormone levels during this particular period of time.
If you have a mild form of acne there are a lot of home remedies that you can use to help treat it, but if you have a more severe form of acne then you need to seek the advice of a professional.
Witch hazel is considered a very effective home remedy which has been used throughout the ages which helps to strip excess oils from your pores and helps to promote the growth of healthy skin. It is one of the oldest forms of skincare dating back to the mid 1950s right up the end of the 1960s when it was popularly used to combat the appearance of teenage acne. This is a less harsh form of treatment than some other plants which can irritate the skin. Witch hazel has natural oils which help to prevent excessive dying of the skin or unwanted irritation of the skin.
Oatmeal and almond oil can also help to eliminate all of the excess oils in the skin. You should use a skin cleanser that is not harsh because if you do then it will cause the skin to loose all of its natural oils. This will make the skin compensate and produce more and more oil to make up for the loss of the oil from the cleanser. You could also use an oatmeal crushed almond face mask to help cleanse the skin and absorb any of the excess oil. Almond oil will help to maintain balance of your skin and prevent drying your skin out too much.
After you have acne there are a lot of treatment options available. Many people begin with over the counter remedies which are meant to draw out the excess oils in the skin and promote healing. These treatments can cause over-drying of the skin which will cause the skin to overproduce oil to compensate for excess oil depletion. There are also prescriptions available to help fight acne. If you have a more severe form of acne then you may get a prescription for antibiotics to help treat the condition. The other type of cream that may be prescribed is Retin-A which has been known to cause the skin to be flaky and itchy for the first few days of use. If you are using this cream they recommend that you use a moisturizer along with the cream.Above all, always follow your medical practitioners advice.
