How to Seal Wall Tile

    • 1). Wash the tiles well with a cleanser made for your tiles. Remove any soap scum, surface staining or debris that may interfere with the sealing. Rinse the wall tiles well and allow them to dry completely.

    • 2). Pour the sealer into a dish that is wide enough for you to insert a wide-foam paintbrush. Dip the paintbrush into the sealer and allow it to soak up the sealant. Scrape the brush against the side of the dish slightly to remove excess sealer so the paintbrush does not drip.

    • 3). Seal the wall tiles beginning with the topmost tiles. Work from left to right across the top row of tiles, covering the tiles and the grout with sealer before continuing down the wall toward the bottom. This will ensure you get even coverage over the tiles, without excess sealer running in streaks down the wall.

    • 4). Allow the sealer to penetrate the tiles and grout for 10 minutes and then wipe the tiles dry with a lint-free cloth. Start with the uppermost tiles and work left to right and then down to ensure that the sealer does not begin to over dry on the tiles it was first applied to.
