      Halloween would not be complete for thrill-lovers without haunted houses, haunted hayrides and other spooky attractions. The Dallas area boasts many such amusements, from story-based houses to multi-attraction evens and even a hall of wax. Most attractions are open only seasonally, so be sure to check the hours of operation and ticket prices when making plans for your fright night!

    • Haunt-lovers can access two attractions right in Dallas. Dallas Scaregrounds is a three-house haunted attraction in the heart of the city. It includes The Hallucinatorium, a 3-D effects house; The Terrortorium, a traditional gore-style haunted maze; and The Necratorium, a zombie-infested tour through a spooky cemetery.

      Celebration Station is an activity park that offers family-friendly haunted attractions each Halloween season. Attractions at Celebration Station change every year, but are always geared toward the younger crowd.

    Fort Worth

    • Nearby Fort Worth has its own share of haunted attractions including the charity-benefiting Hangman's House of Horrors, which has been featured both on the Travel Channel and in Family Circle Magazine. This house also includes three sideshows: The Labrynth, The U.N.D.E.A.D. and The 3-D Mansion. Live music, karaoke and midway rides complete the entertainment at this event.

      Cutting Edge is a traditional story-based haunted house attraction that claims to be the largest in the world. It is located in a 235,000-square-foot warehouse from the 1920s. This house includes monsters, gore and even a ghostly Santa attraction.

    Mid-Cities and Surrounding Area

    • Some of the area's favorite haunted attractions are found just a short drive from Dallas. Reindeer Manor in Red Oak is one of the oldest such attractions in the area and is a multi-attraction location. This restored historic site is rumored to be truly haunted. It includes sideshows such as a maze and a haunted hayride.

      Louis Tussaud's Palace of Wax is part of the Ripley's museum in Grande Prairie. This hall features life-size wax figures of the famous and the infamous.

      Thrillvania is a thrill park east of Dallas that includes eight attractions. Visitors can tour the Verdun Manor, a story-based haunted house; wander the Voodoo Bayou; try to beat the Maze of Chaos; or take in Texas' first 4-D attraction, Six-feet Blunder.

      Zombie Manor is a story-based haunted house in Arlington. Visitors can expect to see plenty of gore and to be spooked by an army of zombie actors.
