The #1 Way to Gain Spiritual Strength in Tough Circumstances

In Matt 7 Jesus refers to a wise man who built his house upon a rock.
He spoke of how "when the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, it did not fall.
" In order to not crumble when the storms of life come, you must be wise enough to build your life upon a rock...
Spiritual strength comes from having wisdom - from simply knowing.
Proverbs 24:5 says, "A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might.
" Wisdom leads to strength in weakness.
So, what should we know? What knowledge can we glean from the Word of God to help us to gain spiritual strength? Jesus, Himself, shares 3 truths that you must know in order to be strong in the midst of life's circumstances: 1.
He has overcome the world.
In John 16:33, Jesus assures us that though we will have tribulation in this world, in Him we can have peace because He has overcome the world.
Knowing that He's already overcome gives us strength.
It's possible to endure when you know the end result.
No matter what "it" is, He will work it out for your good.
You can be confident that "many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivers Him out of them all.
"(Ps34:19) Knowing His outcome will help you to endure in any situation.
2.
He is Able.
In Luke 18:27 Jesus declares things that are impossible with man are indeed possible with God.
When your situation looks hopeless, when you've done all you can do, you have to know there is a Higher Power and with Him all things are possible.
Again, knowing this allows you to rest.
It allows you to trust that He can, and will do exceedingly, abundantly above all you can ask or think...
(Eph3:20) This wisdom will make you strong in your times of weakness.
3.
Faith Makes You Able.
In Matt 17:20 Jesus empowers us by saying if we simply have faith, we can move any mountain.
If we have faith in His power, He says nothing will be impossible to us - including those rains, floods and winds that threaten our houses.
Knowing that 'faith makes you able', you can remove any mountains from your life - financial hardships, worry, toxic relationships, even illness.
Hebrews 11 says through faith, the warriors and prophets of the Old Testament "subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions...
out of weakness were made strong...
" Faith will make you strong! (And faith is simply knowing in your heart who He is and what He can do...
) When the storms of life come and beat upon your house, will it stand because it was built on solid rock? Your strength comes from knowing that Jesus has overcome, that He is able to do the impossible and that He has empowered you to do even greater things than He! My friend, you simply have to know...
I leave with you the same advice Paul gave the Ephesians: "Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.
