How to Repair Moen Garden Taps
- 1). Put a bucket underneath your garden faucet. Pull the faucet's handle up to remove any dirt or grime clogging the faucet's interior with water. Push the handle down to stop the flow of water. Dump the bucket out into a sewer.
- 2). Remove the garden faucet's handle with a crescent wrench. Clean it with water to remove any dirt. If the screwing connecting end of the faucet is especially marked, replace it with a new Moen version.
- 3). Remove the circular donut-hole and the six-sided handle with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Your faucet's end piece should now be visible.
- 4). Check the circular donut-hole and six-sided handle for buildup. Remove buildups with water. Replace the parts with brand-new Moen versions, if they are especially worn or marked.
- 5). Turn on the flashlight and look inside your faucet's end piece for grime. Remove grime with water. Replace the end-piece with a brand-new Moen version, if it is particularly worn or marked.
- 6). Check the temperature control knob by pressing it down and pulling it back up. Replace the knob if it catches or stops when you attempt to push it down or pull it up.
