Hornsea - East Riding of Yorkshire marks the start, or end of the Trans Pennine Trail on the beautiful north east coast of England.
It is a small seaside resort still popular with holidaymakers.
The sea front is a pleasant place to stroll and find some fish and chips and the area has a number of attractions to visit.
The town is probably most famous for Hornsea Pottery, examples of which can be seen at the local museum.
The factory closed in 2000 after fifty years of producing ornaments and tableware for a worldwide market.
Some of the collections such as the Elegance Range are still in demand and many items have become collectors items.
The former site of the pottery factory is now Hornsea Freeport shopping village.
It was one of the first outlet villages in England and now has over thirty five high street names selling their products at cut prices.
If you want to find a few bargains then Freeport is the place for you.
Hornsea Mere is a natural inland freshwater lake used for boating, fishing and wildlife watching.
Boating enthusiasts can hire rowing boats, sailing boats or take a tour boat.
Other activities include bird watching, putting on the eighteen hole putting green, walking and fishing.
There are events and boat races held all year round.
Around the town you will find many amazing places to see.
There are lovely beaches such as Mappleton Sands.
The famous resorts of Bridlington and Scarbrough with their noisy seaside charms.
The gorgeous countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors has a wealth of variety of landscapes and attractions.
Since the heyday of the Hornsea Pottery boom, the town has made a great recovery and used its assets to build new attractions which are bringing visitors from far and wide.
