How to Grow Parsley in Containers

    • 1). Locate a pot that is between 6 to 10 inches wide with good drainage holes in the bottom.

    • 2). Soak the parsley seeds in warm water for 24 hours before planting.

    • 3). Fill the pot with a commercial potting soil.

    • 4). Seed the parsley in small holes and cover the seeds with 1/8 inch of soil. Water the soil so that it is moist, but not wet. Continue watering until the seeds begin to germinate, and then water when the soil goes dry. Place the container in a location that receives about six to eight hours of sunlight per day.

    • 5). Thin out the parsley once it grows 2 to 3 inches high so that the final spacing is 10 to 12 inches apart. Fertilize the plant with a 5-10-5 fertilizer every three to four weeks until the parsley is ready to harvest after 90 days.
