How to Winterize Washers & Dryers in RVs
- 1). Disconnect the water inlet hoses from the unit and drain any standing water into a bucket. Clean out the hoses with a blast of compressed air. Reattach the hoses to the unit.
- 2). Turn the washer and dryer's power supply to the off position.
- 3). Pour one half to one gallon of RV anti-freeze directly into the unit's drum. Avoid using regular automotive anti-freeze.
- 4). Close the door to the unit and place it on the "spin" cycle for two to three minutes. This will run the anti-freeze through the hoses attached to the machine.
- 5). Turn the machine off and disconnect it from the power supply.
- 6). Unplug the drain hoses from the unit and empty out any remaining water into a bucket. Reattach the unit's hoses.
- 7). Wipe up any liquid that remains on the floor or the outside of the unit with a towel. This will ensure that no mold forms during storage.
