How to Winterize Washers & Dryers in RVs

    • 1). Disconnect the water inlet hoses from the unit and drain any standing water into a bucket. Clean out the hoses with a blast of compressed air. Reattach the hoses to the unit.

    • 2). Turn the washer and dryer's power supply to the off position.

    • 3). Pour one half to one gallon of RV anti-freeze directly into the unit's drum. Avoid using regular automotive anti-freeze.

    • 4). Close the door to the unit and place it on the "spin" cycle for two to three minutes. This will run the anti-freeze through the hoses attached to the machine.

    • 5). Turn the machine off and disconnect it from the power supply.

    • 6). Unplug the drain hoses from the unit and empty out any remaining water into a bucket. Reattach the unit's hoses.

    • 7). Wipe up any liquid that remains on the floor or the outside of the unit with a towel. This will ensure that no mold forms during storage.
