How to Mount a Receiver Hitch on an RV
- 1). Place all receiver hitch parts and fasteners on a flat surface near RV.
- 2). Examine the RV hitch attachment area for any obstructions such as a spare tire or exhaust system. Loosen or temporarily remove these obstructions if necessary.
- 3). Align the receiver hitch to the center of frame by measuring the RV center point with a tape measure.
- 4). Raise the receiver hitch into position with a floor jack or scissors jack.
- 5). Drill frame or bracket holes as needed for ultra-frame heavy-duty receiver hitches.
- 6). Attach the receiver hitch draw bar to the RV frame with the included fasteners. Tighten to provided specifications with a torque wrench.
- 7). Insert the hitch ball into the receiver. Secure the hitch ball into place with a locking pin.
- 8). Reattach loosened or removed obstructions.
