  For a costume that evokes the golden age of Hollywood or today's red carpet crowd, coordinate with your partner to re-create one of the silver screen's most famous couples. Tailor your selection to your own assets; while not everyone has looks begging to be blown up to the big screen, your resemblance to the starring couple need only be general. Wigs, costume and makeup will do the rest.
  
  

Lucy and Desi

• With a shockingly red, curly wig, it's easy to transform yourself into Lucille Ball. For Desi Arnaz, either part your hair and slick it down, or look for an appropriate wig. Scavenge local vintage clothing shops for costumes that evoke the 1950s. The television buff can dig into the details, and dress to fit with a specific episode of the couple's long-running TV show. For Lucy, put on a smock and a poofy chef's hat, making sure that a few red curls are still visible, and keep a stash of chocolates in your pockets. You're straight out of the famous chocolate factory episode. To give Desi a finishing touch, carry a baton to lead the band.
  
  

Bogie and Bacall

• For an elegant couple out of film's golden age, dress as Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Mine local vintage shops for 40s-inspired fashions. Although it might be difficult to find authentic pieces from the era, you can use items with the decade's most notable features. Women wore prominent shoulder-pads, a look mirrored in 80s fashions. Men's waistlines were much higher than contemporary standards. Look for hats to finish off the ensemble: a fedora for Bogart and something lacy and delicate for Bacall. If you aren't smokers, look for fake cigarettes at a costume or gag gift shop.
  
  

Orson and Rita

• To dress as Orson Welles, you'll most likely need a bit of padding around the middle -- and some practice telling stories and making clever quips. Dress is otherwise simple: a suit and tie. Part and slick your hair with gel, then tousle it a bit. Depending on the specific era you're after, you may trim your facial hair into a neat beard. To dress as Rita Hayworth, don a wig of long, wavy red hair. Look to movie stills and photographs of the bombshell, basing your costume on 1940s sensibilities and the vivacious style of the era's pin-up glamor girls.
  
  

Brangelina

• If you want to dress as one of the most-watched contemporary celebrity couples, outfit yourselves as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. You can achieve Jolie's signature pouty lips by using light lipstick, with a dot of clear gloss at the center of each lip. Make your bottom lip appear larger by using cover-up or foundation to make your upper lip seems slightly smaller. For Brad, you could channel one of his many characters, dressing in a slick tuxedo to evoke Ocean's 11 or simply putting on a wig with the right, sun-kissed highlights and wearing a muscle-suit underneath your clothes.
